About this deal

No comparisons to Sauvage which was a bit of a let down for me, since I was looking for an ambroxan heavy fragrance. Ohh right! It doesn’t have any ambroxan so if that’s what you’re after keep looking. Not in a "bad scent" awful but in the sense that the fragrance dissipates immediately. Like you bought water in a bottle. In the heart, sandalwood, neroli, geranium, and jasmine weave a tapestry of elegance, while the base sings of musk, oakmoss, tobacco, cedar, and ambergris, a symphony of the elements. Cool Water transforms the air, a testament to its lineage—a game changer that introduced aquatic scents for men. It stands among the best, a fragrance that speaks of nostalgia and seduction, reminiscent of Green Irish Tweed by Creed with a hint of Armani's Acqua di Gio. The oak moss freshness maintains the cool texture as we delve into the base. This is reinforced by sharp notes of cedar wood, which contrast with a warm musky presence. The musk is undeniably aldehydic with a fatty finish, which ensures that is stays more animal than amber.

Well we got home, opened it, and he immediately fell in love. He prefers airy, light scents for me but he needed it to be his, because once we decide whose fragrance it is, the other isn’t allowed to use it as to not ruin the scent for the other one. So once he decided it was his, it was his, and I honestly prefer it that way because I would’ve used this up in a month. Furthermore, the base notes towards the end of the fragrance’s life-cycle cause particular divide as the fragrance becomes bitter due to its fattiness. However, it is overall received positively and enjoyed by a large age range. After middle school I denied Cool Water as Peter did Jesus. I thought it cheap and outdated, unwilling to be associated with such a fragrance I denounced it roundly. 20 odd years later, while in law school, I finally came home. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. Doesn't have to be explained much further because it's been done thousands of times but one thing I'd like to note is the fact that some batches of it are awful. What Coty has done is adding vetiver to a citric peppery and creamy sandalwood scent and they have done a good job. The fragrance follows a current trend using pink pepper and even though it is not listed i personally sense a light Tonka vibe as well. Cool Water receives acclaim from some yet is criticised by others. As a general rule, it’s favoured by men but some women do enjoy its freshness.

Yes, it is true that our noses and olfactory senses change as we grow and become accustomed to newer scents in life. However, the extreme manner in which Cool Water has been destroyed is not simply due to maturing olfactory senses. What Davidoff has done to Cool Water is a tragedy and it is very real. One of the most disappointing and tragic moments in a man's life is when his someone special says, "Aaah, Cool Water. Mmmmmm...", as you hold her close, when what you're actually wearing is Green Irish Tweed😩 The base is remarkably long-lasting partly thanks to the aldehydic musk. That said, it is not without changes that are not necessarily positive. After owning CWP for a short time now, it has grown on me. I now appreciate what it is meant for. A clean dumb reach with a modern feel. There's not much to say that has not been said about this fresh classic, the grandfather of modern aquatic scents, but I feel like Cool Water is more about the green and musky side of freshness rather than watery or airy. I've got a 75 ml bottle from the 2021 batch, so cannot judge about the original 80s-90s batches. I’m a big fan of anything that comes in a blue bottle, mostly because they usually have airy, water smells. But Cool Water is as close a classic as I can call a scent like this. It’s classy, it’s strong, and it always makes me take a moment to stop and enjoy it whenever my husband (and one of my older, married coworkers that happens to have it and use it on rare occasions) uses it and wow, I honestly can’t get over it at times. It says on the box " we have taken the original and added some vetiver" and I have to say no....you did not. If you took the original and added some vetiver it would smell different.

I have been wearing Cool Water these days, this is not particularly fabulous, but I think that Calone and high amounts of Evernyl (Oakmoss) work really nicely. This is pleasant to my nose. This is primarily aroma-chemicals based and I think this actually always was, starting from 80xx. Some citrus compounds are noticeable in this as well, I believe lots of Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool and Ethyl Linalool are very much appealing in this together with some green raw materials like Cis-3-Hexenol maybe in small amounts. This has caused the fragrance to age somewhat compared even to older aromatic fougères from the 1970s. Some may find this composition relatively dated next to current designer colognes. As mentioned above, Cool Water was something of a game changer in men’s fragrance fashion. Even in name, it’s a thematically aquatic cologne wish sharp sea breeze notes. Consequently, it’s more of a casual fragrance that would struggle in the workplace or during more formal occasions. Instead, reserve it for nights out or evening social gatherings. Despite being a decidedly virile fragrance, its masculinity is not overwhelming and remains surprisingly moderate. If anyone wants to know what it smells like when you add vetiver to the ORIGINAL Cool Water edt scent from 1988 has to buy the two following fragrances and layer them. No matter if you added vetiver to CW edt from 2021 or CW edt from1988 it just would not smell like CW perfume. I will say this smell is outdated, but I would personally wear it anyways, I honestly enjoyed it, also if you are looking for uniqueness I guess this would be it now because there's not many frags been worn like this from what I experience when I'm out and about. However, its structure is an otherwise conventional fougère in that it consists of a lavender head, floral heart and woody oak moss base. Head Notes Davidoff Cool Water, a beacon of freshness launched in 1988, heralds the scent of sea-kissed shores and sun-soaked memories, a masterpiece woven into the essence of aquatic allure. At the dawn of spring, as nature awakens, notes of sea water, lavender, mint, and green whispers of new beginnings. Rosemary and coriander paint the canvas, while calone dances like waves under the sun.
