About this deal

Battery damage can be caused by age, physical damage, or poor battery maintenance and it might be time to buy another battery

Insert the batteries into the charging hub, connect the USB charger or PD fast charger to the USB-C port of the charging hub, and the Status LEDs in an array blink successively. As soon as the voltage of your Phantom 3 battery rises to above 3.3 V per cell, you can move it to a Lithium Polymer balance charger. Here, you should be able to balance the battery charge at a 0.5 C rating. As soon as the balance charge completes balancing, the battery will be fully recovered. Turn the battery on and plug it in, The flat turned on the battery should be flashing red before connection. Most drones these days, except for the DJI drones, use Lithium Polymer(LiPo) batteries which are great because of their light weight and ability to store huge amounts of power, but even with this amazing upside, there are some downsides that people are starting to find out about. Connect the battery to the charger, and the Battery Level LEDs in an array blink successively. The charging time for one battery is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. After fully charged, the four Battery Level LEDs are off. Detach the charger after charging is complete.Note: If you have more than one battery and you are using a charging hub to charge them you should understand not every battery will come out of hibernation at the same time some can take longer, so if some batteries are not responding give them some time. 2. Fully flat battery (flat lipo) As the aircraft will naturally generate heat when charging the battery mounted on the aircraft, the charging power will be limited, and the charging time will be slightly longer than when using the battery charging hub.

Devices will take longer to charge if both ports are used for charging simultaneously. Tested in a lab environment and should be taken as reference only. Batteries must be charged using a DJI approved adapter.DJI takes no responsibility if the battery is charged using a non-DJI charger. Never leave the battery unattended during charging. Do not charge the battery near flammable materials or on flammable surfaces such as carpet or wood. But how do you know which one of those two issues is your connection problem? And once you find out, how do you fix it? If the battery keeps flashing red after red, that means the charger isn’t providing power to the battery. Batteries are a fraction of the cost of a new drone and you should always follow safety precautions when dealing with damaged materials. How to Prevent Battery Damage

01. Faulty or broken charger

Connect a battery that is turned on. The flat turned on the battery should be flashing red before connection. After flying - give the battery at least 10 minutes to cool down before charging. The heat can build up in LiPO batteries so ensure you let the temperature drop before starting to charge, which can increase temperatures. If these steps don’t help and your drone battery does not charge normally then you may need to reset the smart circuit. Drone Owners Network has a step-by-step tutorial showing pilots how to reset the smart circuits in their drone batteries. We only sell official DJI parts - so you'll be safe in the knowledge that these batteries will not have any impact on your DJI warranty. Taking care of the battery is not difficult. But if you don’t do it correctly, it is unlikely that the battery will last very long. Firstly, avoid using the battery if it shows signs of damage. The swelling sign is a definite indicator of a problem since it shows that the battery is leaking.

Using alligator clips, connect the cables as pictured directly to the cells’ side bypassing the smart circuit. Do not charge battery immediately after flight, because the battery temperature may be too high. Do not charge the battery until it cools down to near room temperature. Charging battery outside of the temperature range of 0℃-40℃ may lead to leakage, overheating, or battery damage. Do not plug the battery in the charger and go to attend to other business. Ensure that you keep your eye on the chargers’ status bar. It will always indicate the charging level. Keeping an eye on it ensures that you don’t overcharge the battery.

Using the alligator clips, connect the cables directly to the cells which will side bypass the smart circuit. When the voltage of the battery is equal to about 3.3 volts per cell then you can move it over to the Lithium Polymer balance charger and balance the charge at a 0.5C rating. This will take longer than charging it at 1C but it will be safer. The DJI Smart Battery is a lithium-polymer battery designed for the Phantom 3 series. It features four LEDs that display remaining battery capacity. Power management is handled internally meaning the battery doesn’t require a separate balance lead to control charging.
