About this deal

Just like the TV show, Pimp My Ride is a makeover game. It's a makeover game that tries to dress up as something cool, but the core gameplay component is raising money to buy presents for people so they'll be happy and like you. In this regard, it's really no different to those dubious Japanese dating games where you spend two hours trying to discover the starsign of coy schoolgirl Sakura, so you'll know whether she'll prefer sushi or pasta when you ask her out. In the fifth season, the show moved to another garage, Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), as Ryan, the WCC Owner, moved his shop to Corona, California and signed a deal with another television production company. However, the show retained Mad Mike (who quit at WCC and signed at GAS), now dubbed a "car customization specialist". The new cast consisted of: Miller, Jonathan (December 21, 2006). Hosted by the Italian hip hop group Gemelli Diversi.

Pimp My Ride UK (United Kingdom, 2005-2007), presented by the DJ Tim Westwood. Carisma Automotive are the customizers for the UK version.

You can also earn dough by cruising. Simply head over to a group of hip-hop fans that just love hanging out on the street. Then slow to 10 mph and press three buttons when prompted and snap! The crowd goes wild. It makes little sense and is not fun. At the end of the show, the car is revealed to its owner, as well as all the details of the renovation and the custom features; in addition, the participant is usually given a gift somehow related to the car or the owner's hobby. To raise cash for pimping a customer's car, players can crash into other cars, play minigames, which include "Hot Steppin'", a rhythm game, and "Ghost Ride the Whip", where the player must press buttons in time, greet people by driving slowly, and pressing buttons, collect cash tokens that spell out "P-I-M-P", and destroying signs and parking meters.

The slot’s title speaks for itself. It’s a branded game dedicated to one of the most popular MTV shows of the mid-2000s. You can hear a signature Pimp my Ride tune and see all those low-rider cars, garages, etc. Only Xzibit is missing, as NetGaming didn’t buy the rights to use his image in the slot. The game is quite dynamic, which is not surprising. You can see some animations after every winning spin, as well as hear sound effects. The whole gaming process happens in some big garage so that you can feel a signature Pimp my Ride atmosphere. Game Symbols Miller, Jonathan (December 29, 2006). "Pimp My Ride Review (PS2)". IGN . Retrieved February 13, 2014. All the Gear No Idea! (United Kingdom), on the Men & Motors channel, dealt with motorcycles, with the bike being shipped to US customiser LA County Choprods for work. Unlike other similar shows, the owner of the bike also received a makeover.

Sadly, working over the hoop rides of a bunch of screechy teenagers doesn't make for quite as compelling of a game as you might hope. After the third season, WCC manager "Q" announced that he would not be willing to take a role in the show anymore. Q cited a desire to expand the company's business with a customs shop in St. Louis, Missouri called Coast 2 Coast Customs. Ryan Friedlinghaus, the owner of WCC, was featured in Season 4 as the "lead" for discussions on customizing the cars. In the final episode of season 2, the participant was studying to be an auto mechanic, and WCC decided to let him "pimp" his car as a study project. Pimp My Ride France (France, 2009-2011), which aired on MTV France. The show was presented by Ramzy and had two seasons.

What you will run out of is time. You're working against a pretty tight deadline and success really depends on how far apart the suppliers are. You're also at the mercy of a pretty grotty navigation set-up which consists of a map that is often confusing, and sometimes plain wrong, and a basic GPS system that uses a floating green arrow to point the way to your chosen destination. Thanks to the unhelpful angle, this arrow looks more like a green oblong and, on the rare occasions when you can see which direction it's facing, there's a good chance it's decided to direct you to a nearby token or stupidly circuitous route. Pimp my corporate-owned intellectual property Using a script or add-on that scans GameFAQs for box and screen images (such as an emulator front-end), while overloading our search engine Pimp My Ride takes place in the glorious metropolis known as Pimp City. The residents of Pimp City like to drive pimped-out rides. So, what's an up-and-coming car-customization nerd like you to do when tasked with making the unpimped rides of the town's more hapless citizens into full-on works of pimp-flavored art? Why, drive around doing lame ghost riding and cruising minigames to earn cash so you can drive around in the customer's clunker to get new parts and make it into a gaudy monstrosity, of course. And then you do this exact same sequence of events over and over and over again until the game concludes, or you simply can't stomach the lame gameplay any longer. Or maybe you'll just give up once the game crashes on you for the third or fourth time, which is as good a reason as any to stop. Several participants who appeared on seasons 4 and 6 of Pimp My Ride later stated that elements of the show were either exaggerated or faked. The houses where Xzibit would surprise contestants with the news they were selected were often rented by MTV. The initial poor condition of some of the vehicles was staged to look worse, including the removal of paint, trash in the interior, and bumpers loosened to the point of falling off. Some features added during filming were removed immediately afterwards due to potential issues with local and state traffic laws, and the participants noted that multiple takes were needed to film their reactions during the final reveal. Some were coached to express more amazement and enthusiasm between takes. The overhaul process, which appeared on the show to only last a few days or weeks, actually lasted 6–7 months, and the shows participants had to find their own transportation while their cars were being upgraded with no support from the network. In addition, the modifications made to the cars were purely cosmetic and any problems with how the car ran-wheel alignment, engine, transmission, etc-was still up to the participants to fix. [2] DVD releases [ edit ] U.S. version [ edit ] Title In the game, players are challenged to pimp out their customers' cars by Xzibit, transforming something old and rusty into something worthy of displaying on the streets. Cars can be redesigned from bumper to bumper and it will be players' responsibilities to capture the styles, likes and interests of their clients.
